A Tribute to Shaheed Udham Singh

Govt. College of Commerce and Business Administration paid rich Tributes to the Great Martyr Shaheed Udham Singh on his Martyrdom day on 31 July 2013 by organizing a Seminar on the life and Martyrdom of Shaheed Udham Singh at the college campus. The Students and the staff of the college came together to pay homage to the Martyr. A seminar was organized on this occasion entitling “THE LIFE AND MARTYRDOM OF SHAHEED UDHAM SINGH “. Prof. Kirpal Singh, Assistant Professor, Punjabi gave an introductory lecture on the works of Gaddar Party. Prof. Gurpreet Singh, Assistantat Professor History, presented a paper with a slide show highlighting the Main events of the Life of Shaheed Udham Singh. He also throw light on the activites of Gaddar Party and the circumstances that motivated Shaheed Udham Singh to take revenge of the butcherous act of Micahle Odwier.Reminding everyone of the duties towards nation and the present scenarios he put the true picture of the India that freedomfighters dreamed of. On this occassion Principal Mrs. Manjit Kaur, Dr. Rosy Walia ,Dr.Bikramjit Kaur, Prof.  Amarpreet Singh Sijher,  Ms. Kriti Mahajan, Dr. Rajiv Salwan along with other staff members came to pay their respects to the martyr and shared their views. Principal Mrs. Manjit Kaur expressed her great concern for such events and strongly supported it as the need of the hour so that the next generation may not forget their heroes. Dr. Rosy Walia paid homage to the martyr and assured that such events will be held in the future also so that the students, especially from the professional colleges may not forget the unsung heroes of the Nation who laid their lives for the great cause. Saluting the martyr Prof. Amarpreet Sijher and Dr. Rajiv Salwan assured every possible help for the great cause. At the end Prof. Kirpal Singh thanked everyone present at the event with a pledge of not forgetting the true heroes of the nation.
