NSS CAMP DAY-VII
Beating the winter jitters, the NSS volunteers as well as the members had once again congregated on the seventh day of the NSS Camp to bid adieu to the wonderful camp they had been a part of. The NSS 7-day Special Camp came to an end today that had begun on 15th December. The volunteers swept clean the college campus in the morning. The chief guest for the valedictory event was Mr. Zulfikar Khan, from Theatre Age which is an NGO that channelizes the youthful energy of the underprivileged slum children into constructive avenues like theatre. Our respected Principal, Mrs. Manjit Brar, started the event by addressing the audience and introducing our esteemed guest. Then, Mr. Zulfikar Khan told the volunteers about the tough life he had lived and encouraged them to live life fully by doing good and earning a good name.
This was followed by reading of the NSS reports in order to tell some highlights of the week. Then, a small video was prepared by the two NSS volunteers which gave a flashback of the complete NSS camp. Thereafter, the college theater group, ASEES, showed up a skit to add flavour to the closing ceremony. This was followed by the distribution of “Certificate of Appreciation” which was given to 20 volunteers and 2 volunteers were chosen to be the “Best Volunteers” of the NSS camp for their outstanding performance and involvement throughout the camp and were presented with the “Certificate of Excellence’. Then, Dr. Rosy Walia, NSS Coordinator, appreciated the volunteers for their good work and enthusiasm. The ceremony ended and everybody then generously donated newspapers and clothes to the Theatre Age. Thereafter everyone was asked to move for lunch.
