Government College of Commerce and Business Administration, Sector 50, Chandigarh held its 6th Convocation and 9th Annual Prize Distribution Function with fervor and enthusiasm for its B.Com and BBA passout students. The Program commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by Sh. S.L. Thakur (IRS) Principal Commissioner, Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax who was the chief guest on the occassion. Mrs Manjit Kaur, the Principal of the College, presented the Annual Report of the college highlighting the achievements of the students who have excelled in the fields of academics and co-curricular activities during the session 2015-16. Prof. Rosy Walia, Dean, presented the students of B.COM and BBA for award of Degrees to the graduates.

Around 200 degrees were awarded to the students of B.COM (Hons in finance and E-Commerce), B.Com (pass course) and BBA. Gagandeep Singh was declared all round best student of the year. Rajdeep kaur, Taranjot kaur and Gaurav were awarded Roll of Honour in Academics and Deepak Singh in Sports for bringing laurels to the college. 45 students were awarded College Colour and 77 students were awarded Certificate of Merit for outstanding achievements in academics, sports and co-curricular activities. The Chief Guest in his convocation address advised the graduates to be focused to be able to achieve their goals in life. He also motivated them to work hard to carve a niche for themselves in the specialized field of commerce and management. He encouraged the students to develop social cognizance and a universal outlook. He also shared his experience to bring home the point that getting a degree was not the end of the learning experience but the beginning to a world still untapped. Dr Rajiv Salwan presented the vote of thanks followed by High Tea.
