Third Leadership Training Camp

Government College of Commerce and Business Administration Sector 50 Chandigarh organized the 3rd Leadership Training Camp for two days ie on 29th and 30th September 2017. The camp was being organized for the 3rd time in association with Forum of Free Enterprise a Charitable Trust established by Late Sh. A.D. Shroff in Mumbai in 1956.The objective of the Trust was to educate the public on economic affairs. In order to achieve the same, the forum organizes training camps in various colleges and schools all over India. The camp as always was very successful with the students from tri-city as it has engaged them into some practical exercises/workshops for Two consecutive days to understand Leadership, Management and Team work. The basic purpose of the programme was to engage students by the team of experts from Mumbai Shri Vivek Patki and Shri Rajiv Luv who took highly interactive sessions based on practical workshops on the themes like Goal Setting, Self-Esteem, Time Management, Self-Management , Communication Skills and team work to highlight a few.
The camp concluded with the valedictory session where students shared their feedback and felt rejuvenated and enlightened after attending the camp as the two days consistent activities helped them to come of out of their comfort zone and realize their potential. The host college organized this camp free of cost for students of tri-city colleges and students were provided with the certificates and lunch.
Principal Dr Manjit Kaur in her address congratulated the students for their effective participation and presented the memento to the worthy guests from Mumbai as a Token of gratitude for their contribution through this camp.

Panjab University 59th Zonal Youth and heritage festival 2017 – Final Day (Day 4)

59th Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival 2017-18 (Zone-A) concluded today. Thirteen Co-educational colleges of Chandigarh Participated in the event. More than 2000 students competed for kaleidoscope of events such as Folk Dance, Music, Theatre, heritage and literary events.  The competition for Indian Orchestra, Folk Dance Instrumental Music-Percussion & Non-Percussion Instruments was held today. Overall trophy of the youth and heritage festival was bagged by GGDSD college sector 32 Chandigarh. Prof Emanual Nahar Dean Student Welfare was the chief guest for the closing ceremony of the youth festival. He congratulated the students and wished them luck for their future endeavours. He mentioned that the performance of the students was indeed enjoyable and emphasized that the extra-curricular activity along with studies is essential for the holistic development of the students. Panjab University 59th Zonal Youth and heritage festival 2017 – Day 1

Panjab University 59th Zonal Youth and heritage festival 2017 started with great pomp and show at Govt. College of Commerce and Business Administration sector 50 Chandigarh.  Sh B. L .Sharma IAS Education Secretary was Chief Guest on the occasion. Sh. R.K Popli, Director Higher Education, Dr. Parvinder Singh Controller of Examination were the guest of Honour. Sh. Nirmal Singh Jaura Director Youth welfare, principals of participating colleges and retired principals of GCCBA 50 were the other guests present on the occasion. Principal, Dr. Manjit Kaur welcomed the guests. Thirteen teams from Chandigarh zone were participating in the event. The event will be held from 20th to 23rd September 2017. While speaking on the occasion chief guest Sh. B.L. Sharma emphasized that extra-curricular activities along with academics plays a significant role in the success of a student. He further highlighted that such type of festival bring students close to the rich heritage and culture of the country. Business Quiz Held

Career Guidance Cell of Govt. College of Commerce and Business Administration Sector-50 in collaboration with Jaipuria Institute of Management organized a Business quiz competition. More than 80 students of B.Com/BBA-II and III participated in the quiz. The primary objective of this quiz was to give exposure to the students to rejuvenate their knowledgeable skills in various competitions. The winners of the quiz Saksham Verma and Rachit Garg were rewarded with the certificates and cash prizes worth ₹2500/- each. The winners will get a chance to appear in grand finale and win prizes worth ₹50,000.
