Government College of Commerce and Business Administration, Sector 50, Chandigarh celebrated 71st Republic Day in the college campus with great patriotic zeal and enthusiasm today. Principal, Prof (Dr) Nisha Aggarwal, unfurled the National flag. The colourful programme started with National Anthem followed by students presenting speeches, songs and poems to share their commitment and bond for the love of their country to mark the importance of the day. The College Literary & Art Magazine “Grapevine” was released today, an effort and initiative of Literary Society of the college. Speaking on the occasion, the Principal Prof (Dr) Nisha Aggarwal exhorted that this is the day when we need to remember the importance of the contribution made by the great visionaries. we are celebrating this day with great pride and enjoying the fruits of the freedom attained. She highlighted that it is important for the youth to understand their role and contribute by excelling in the field of academics and education and making the college and nation proud. She exhorted to youth to be aware of not just rights but their duties too. She also appreciated the efforts of the students and congratulated them for participating in full spirit. She further encouraged them by saying that the ultimate goal of education is to make them a better human being and they should further take the reins of the college by understanding their role as responsible citizens.
