The Government College of Commerce and Business Administration, Sector 50, Chandigarh, celebrated its 15th Annual Athletic Meet with considerable zeal and enthusiasm. The event was officially declared OPEN by the Principal of the College, Dr. Shashi Wahi Khullar, alongside Dr. Sangam Kapoor, Dean of Academics and Vice Principal of the College, Dr. Amarpreet Singh Sijher. The Principal, staff, and students extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, Shri Rubinderjit Singh Brar, Hon’ble Director of Higher Education, Chandigarh Administration, Principals of other colleges and distinguished guests.
In her address, the Principal, Dr. Khullar, urged the athletes to “compete with honour, cheer with enthusiasm, and, above all, cherish the bonds of friendship and unity that unite us as one college community.”
The day featured a wide range of events, including track and field competitions, team events, and recreational games. A particular highlight was a demonstration of the Sikh martial art, Gatka, as well as Yoga and cultural performances, all presented to the Chief Guest.
During his speech, Shri Rubinderjit Singh Brar praised the achievements and performances of the students and encouraged the athletes to showcase their skills, push their limits, and embrace both the thrill of victory and the lessons of defeat. He, then distributed certificates, medals, and trophies to the winners.
Mr. RITESH KUMAR of B. Com. III (Boys) and Ms. KANCHAN KUMARI of B. C. A. III (Girls)were declared the overall best athletes of the day.
The event concluded with a sincere vote of thanks presented by Dr. Amarpreet Singh Sijher The day ended on a patriotic note with the with the recitation of Indian National Anthem.
