26 January 2015: Republic Day Celebrations
26 January 2015 marked the republic day celebrations at the GCCBA campus. The event witnessed a fair turnout of students despite the chilly weather. Inspector Ram Dayal, SHO sector 36, was the chief guest for the day. The celebrations began with the hoisting of the flag by the principal followed by the national anthem. Out of a number of performances lined up, Sonam and Inayat sang Vande Mataram in their melodious voices. Then, Archie enthralled the audience with her dance and revived the patriotism in each one of us. The dance was succeeded by another musical extravaganza by Mantej and Nishchal who sang Satyamev Jayate. They indeed lived up to the expectations of the audience. GCCBians were also informed about Swami Vivekananda by Shobit Chugh. Lovleen, the daughter of one of our non teaching staff amazed the audience with her melliflous voice. She sang a devotional rendition, Anekta mai Ekta. We then had the most awaited skit by the ASEES performing arts group who emphasised on the need of education.
The chief guest then addressed the gathering and motivated them to serve others and live a life of humility. He insisted on self introspection and narrated how he was keen on making an impact on the society at large. The event concluded with the principal’s address who too, made the students realise their role as responsible citizens. The students were served laddoos thereafter.
