“The Red Run” – a 5 KM marathon aimed at raising awareness about HIV/AIDS.

The Red Ribbon Club of Government College of Commerce and Business Administration (GCCBA), Sector 50, Chandigarh, successfully organized “The Red Run” – a 5 KM marathon aimed at raising awareness about HIV/AIDS. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 60 students of the college, who ran with dedication to support the cause.
The marathon not only served as a platform to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS but also identified top-performing athletes among the participants. The top three winners in both boys’ and girls’ categories were recognized for their outstanding performance. Additionally, the top ten boys and the top three girls have qualified for the upcoming State Level Red Run, to be organized by the Chandigarh State Aids Control Society. The event was graced by the presence of staff members who applauded the efforts of the students and awarded medals and certificates. The dignitaries emphasized the importance of spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS, especially among the youth.
The Red Run was a testament to the commitment of GCCBA students and faculty towards social causes, and it served as a powerful reminder of the role that education and awareness play in combating public health challenges.

30 DAYS ENVIRONEMENT CHALLENGE IN COLLABORATION WITH NATIONALEDU TRUST OF INDIA 28.08.2024

Government College of Commerce and Business Administration Sector -50, Chandigarh in collaboration with NationalEdu Trust of India organised an award ceremony for the “30 Days Environment Challenge” program under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Manjit Kaur and Dr. Bikramjit Kaur ,the Nodal Officer. The Chief Guest for the certificate distribution ceremony was Mr Samarth Sharma, Chief Executive Officer at National Eduturst of India. A plethora of events, such as E-poster, Declamation, Environment quiz, nature photography and many more had been conducted for raising awareness on environmental issues and sensitizing students about the same. 20 student volunteers observed the programme begin from 29 July to 29 August, 2024 and helped in the successful competition of the event with the valedictory function today.
