Inauguration of Hostel Block of Government College of Commerce and Business Administration Sector 50 Chandigarh.

The Hon’ble Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri Bandi Sanjay Kumar inaugurated the hostel block for boys and girls of GCCBA-50 Chandigarh today along with other projects worth 100 crores in the presence of esteemed dignitaries, faculty members, students, and members of the public.

The hostel aims to provide safe, comfortable, and affordable residential accommodation for students coming from different parts of the country. The facility can accommodate around 250 residents (125 each for boys and girls) and includes a dining hall, common recreation areas, 24×7 security, and other modern amenities to ensure a holistic living and learning environment.

Speaking on the occasion, the Hon’ble Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri Bandi Sanjay Kumar appreciated and lauded the efforts of the Chandigarh Administration in expanding the infrastructure to meet the growing needs of the city beautiful in line with the national agenda of Viksit Bharat as envisioned by the Honourable Prime Minister of India.

Earlier, the chief guest was welcomed by the Honourable Chief Secretary Shri Rajeev Verma IAS.

The new hostel stands as a testament to Chandigarh Administration’s ongoing dedication to student development and well-being.

11TH INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

The NSS unit of the Government College of Commerce & Business Administration (GCCBA), Sector 50, celebrated the 11th International Yoga Day with great zeal and purpose under the leadership of Principal Prof. Nisha Aggarwal and Dean Dr. Sangam Kapoor. The event began with the inspiring inaugural address of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi from Visakhapatnam, broadcast live on a big screen. He launched the “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” campaign, calling for deeper integration of yoga into our daily lifestyles to support personal and planetary well-being

A vibrant session followed on the college lawns, where Shri Kaushik, a renowned yoga instructor and wellness coach, led around 50 students and faculty, including Teaching and non – teaching through a carefully curated sequence of neck exercises, asanas, pranayama, and meditation. His soothing voice and clear guidance helped participants cultivate inner calm, improved posture, and mindful living.

In her address, Principal Prof. Aggarwal emphasized that yoga is an essential tool for cultivating a strong mind and body, in line with the national vision of Vikshit Bharat,2047. The session concluded with her heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the participants, Sri Kaushik, and organizers who made the event a memorable success. Also, the refreshments were served to all present.
