The NSS Unit of Government College of Commerce and Business Administration (GCCBA), Sector–50, Chandigarh, in collaboration with the Department of Physical Education and Sports, under the visionary guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Nisha Aggarwal Dean Prof. (Dr.) Sangam Kapoor and Vice Principal Prof. (Dr.) Punam Agarwal, organized a Toy Donation Drive under ‘Sewa Pakhwada 2025’ in the adopted village of the college -Kajheri on 15th October 2025.
The initiative aimed to bring smiles to the faces of the children of the village and to promote the spirit of joy, sharing, and community service among students. This collaborative effort between NSS and the Sports Department emphasized the importance of physical activity, teamwork, and compassion, encouraging children to learn and play through recreational means.
During the drive, toys donated by teachers and NSS Volunteers were distributed among the children of Kajheri village. The collection included kids’ cricket sets, balls, and other playful items, encouraging the children to enjoy their childhood and celebrate the festival with smiles and excitement. The excitement and happiness on the children’s faces made the event truly heartwarming and fulfilling. The event created a joyful atmosphere and was appreciated by the villagers for its thoughtful and compassionate gesture.
The initiative helped strengthen the relationship between the college and its adopted community, bringing happiness and festive spirit to the children. The NSS Units and Sports Department of GCCBA aim to continue organizing such outreach programmes that inspire students to contribute meaningfully to society and uphold the values of empathy, kindness, and collective welfare.
