Government College of Commerce and Business Administration held its prestigious
Convocation Ceremony today to confer postgraduate and graduate degrees to students of the
academic batch 2022–25. The event marked a significant milestone in the academic journey
of students who successfully completed their programs.
Prof. (Dr.) Nisha Aggarwal, Principal, introduced the Chief Guest to the audience and
presented the Annual Report for the session 2024–25, highlighting the notable achievements
of the faculty and students. She also inspired students with insights on leadership, innovation,
and lifelong learning.
Speaking at the event, Chief Guest Prof. Yajvender Pal Verma, Registrar, Panjab University,
and Professor at the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Chandigarh,
stated, “This convocation stands as a testament to the resilience, determination, and academic
spirit of our students and faculty. We are proud to celebrate their success and are confident
that they will contribute meaningfully to society.”
In total, over 206 students received their degrees, with 13 merit awards for academic
excellence and extracurricular achievements. The ceremony included the awarding of degrees
in various disciplines, including Master of Commerce (MCom), Bachelor of Commerce
(BCom), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), and Bachelor of Computer
Applications (BCA).
On this occasion, a poetry book titled “Postcards Between the Two”, authored by Ms.
Varitika, a BBA student of the college, was also formally released, adding a cultural and
literary highlight to the ceremony.
The event concluded with the administration of the convocation oath, followed by the
national anthem and a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Punam Agarwal, Convener of
the event.
