INTERACTIVE SESSION ON CAREER GROWTH AND PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT

A Powerful and interactive session on Career Growth and Personality Development was organised in
Government College of Commerce and Business Administration, Sector 50, Chandigarh. The
renowned speaker, Retd. Suresh Kumar Gupta, former Head of Finance, HAFED, discussed the four
personality types- choleric, melancholy, sanguine and phlegmatic. He shared practical tips for
navigating workplace dynamics and improving interpersonal skills. Additionally, a personality test
was offered to interested students, helping them assess their traits and improve self-awareness. Over
70 students participated in this interactive event, gaining valuable insights for their future professional
environment. Principal Prof. (Dr) Jyoti Seth praised the session, highlighting its role in preparing students for modern career challenges and the need to introspect and build a positive perspective.

JeevanJot Singh Brings Laurels to GCCBA50

The Principal of Government College of Commerce and Business Administration, Prof. (Dr.) Jyoti
Seth, extended her heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Jeevanjot Singh, a final-year BCA student, for his
remarkable achievement. Mr. Singh secured a Gold Medal in the Single Soti Individual category at
the Gatka Inter-College Tournament held at Punjab University, Chandigarh, on October 18, 2024. A
dedicated athlete, he has represented the college for several years and has previously earned
medals in both national and state championships. Prof. (Dr.) Seth wished him continued success and
a bright future ahead.

70 DONORS DONATE BLOOD AT GCCBA50

The NSS Units of Government College of Commerce and Business Administration, Sector 50, Chandigarh, organized a successful Blood Donation Camp today, under the leadership of Principal Dr. Jyoti Seth and Dean Dr. Amar Preet S. Sijher. Collaborating with the Blood Donation Society, Red Ribbon Club, Red Cross Chandigarh, Vishvas Foundation, and Government Medical College and Hospital, the camp aimed to promote voluntary blood donation and dispel related myths. Approximately 100 donors registered, resulting in the collection of 70 units of blood.

Dr. Jyoti Seth encouraged faculty, NSS volunteers, and community members to participate in this noble cause and expressed appreciation for the donors’ contributions. She presented certificates and gifts to participants, who also received refreshments from Vishvas Foundation. Additionally, a blood stem cell donation camp was held in collaboration with DATRI and supported by Mr. Amit Kumar from the Socialgram Foundation. Dr. Seth extended her gratitude to the staff of Government Medical College and Hospital and Vishvas Foundation for their vital roles in organizing the event.

“The Red Run” – a 5 KM marathon aimed at raising awareness about HIV/AIDS.

The Red Ribbon Club of Government College of Commerce and Business Administration (GCCBA), Sector 50, Chandigarh, successfully organized “The Red Run” – a 5 KM marathon aimed at raising awareness about HIV/AIDS. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 60 students of the college, who ran with dedication to support the cause.
The marathon not only served as a platform to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS but also identified top-performing athletes among the participants. The top three winners in both boys’ and girls’ categories were recognized for their outstanding performance. Additionally, the top ten boys and the top three girls have qualified for the upcoming State Level Red Run, to be organized by the Chandigarh State Aids Control Society. The event was graced by the presence of staff members who applauded the efforts of the students and awarded medals and certificates. The dignitaries emphasized the importance of spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS, especially among the youth.
The Red Run was a testament to the commitment of GCCBA students and faculty towards social causes, and it served as a powerful reminder of the role that education and awareness play in combating public health challenges.

30 DAYS ENVIRONEMENT CHALLENGE IN COLLABORATION WITH NATIONALEDU TRUST OF INDIA 28.08.2024

Government College of Commerce and Business Administration Sector -50, Chandigarh in collaboration with NationalEdu Trust of India organised an award ceremony for the “30 Days Environment Challenge” program under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Manjit Kaur and Dr. Bikramjit Kaur ,the Nodal Officer. The Chief Guest for the certificate distribution ceremony was Mr Samarth Sharma, Chief Executive Officer at National Eduturst of India. A plethora of events, such as E-poster, Declamation, Environment quiz, nature photography and many more had been conducted for raising awareness on environmental issues and sensitizing students about the same. 20 student volunteers observed the programme begin from 29 July to 29 August, 2024 and helped in the successful competition of the event with the valedictory function today.  

78th Independence Day celebration

“Har Ghar Tiranga  campaign” in the college was celebrated with various events planned during the week which also included the 78th Independence Day celebration at Government College of Commerce and Business Administration, Sector-50, Chandigarh with great fervour and enthusiasm. The celebration started with the hoisting of the National Flag which was followed by National Anthem. On the occasion, the Principal of the College highlighted the value of freedom and the role of GCCBIANS as torchbearers for other institutions. She encouraged the students to pledge for Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan on its 4th anniversary. She urged the students to sign the e-pledge and download the certificates, ensuring that they are part of the Jan Anodlan to ensure Nasha Mukt Bharat for all. She also asked the students to play an active role in creating a justifiable, secular and  developed nation. Cultural performances were organized by the Cultural Committee and NSS volunteers. The programme ended with the singing of the National Anthem.
