The 16th Annual Prize Distribution Function was held today with great zeal and enthusiasm at Government College of Commerce and Business Administration, Sector 50, Chandigarh. The event was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Prof. Jagat Bhushan, Controller of Examinations, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh. He also serves as Professor at Dr. Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences & Hospital, Panjab University, Chandigarh.

The dignitary was warmly welcomed by Prof. (Dr.) Nisha Aggarwal, Principal of the college, along with Dr. Sangam Kapoor, Dean, and Prof. (Dr.) Punam Agarwal, Vice-Principal, accompanied by the dedicated faculty and staff.

Prof. (Dr.) Nisha Aggarwal presented the college’s Annual Report, eloquently highlighting the remarkable accomplishments of faculty and students during the 2025–2026 academic year. She emphasized the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and holistic development.

In his keynote address, Prof. Jagat Bhushan underscored the vital role of life skills and core values in students’ educational journeys. He advocated a holistic approach to education that nurtures not only intellectual growth but also character, resilience, and emotional intelligence. His inspirational words resonated deeply, reminding students of the importance of perseverance, integrity, and adaptability in navigating professional paths and life’s challenges.

In recognition of exemplary achievements, the college conferred the Roll of Honour on 10 outstanding students for their exceptional contributions in academics, sports, and cultural activities. Additionally, 5 students received the prestigious College Colours, while 125 students were awarded Certificates of Merit for distinguished performance in academics, best NSS volunteers, sports, and co-curricular activities. Mr. Gorakh from BCA 6th Semester and Ms. Shreya Dutt from MCom 4th Semester were awarded the All-Rounder Student titles in the boys’ and girls’ categories, respectively, for the 2025–2026 academic session.

Notably, four students shone on national and international stages: Ms. Yashil represented Chandigarh and the college at the World Youth Parliament in Bangalore with 29 countries; Mr. Raman was shortlisted from over 12 lakh participants for the finale of My Bharat Quest 2026 (both from the NSS wing); Mr. Parth Chhibber (BBA 5th Semester) and Mr. Chirag Aggarwal (BCA 3rd Semester) secured Panjab University positions.

The event concluded graciously with Dr. Sangam Kapoor, Dean, extending vote of thanks and heartfelt congratulations to all awardees and applauding their dedication. The ceremony ended with the soulful rendition of the National Anthem, symbolizing unity, pride, and the institution’s collective spirit of excellence.
