The Vigilance Cell, in collaboration with the NSS Units, organized a week-long series of activities under the national theme “Probity for Prosperity” to promote integrity, transparency, accountability and awareness against corruption among students and staff.
The observance began on 26 October with an online Integrity Pledge taken by 350 students. On 27 October, Principal Dr. Sangam Kapoor administered a physical pledge to 80 teaching and non-teaching staff members, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to ethical conduct.
On 28 October, Inspector Ajay of Police Station, Sector 9, U.T. Chandigarh, delivered an interactive talk on vigilance, ethical behaviour and the importance of transparency in public life. Creative competitions followed: a poster-making competition on 29 October and a slogan-writing competition on 30 October, which received 15 and 12 entries respectively. These events gave students a platform to express their views on honesty, integrity and the fight against corruption.
On 31 October, an awareness drive was conducted in selected market areas and residential localities of Mohali and Chandigarh. Six groups of volunteers urged shopkeepers, traders and residents to avoid unethical business practices and adopt fair, transparent dealings. The rally was flagged off by Principal Dr. Sangam Kapoor, along with Vigilance Officer Ms. Vandana Jain, Dr. Yogesh, NSS Programme Officer Dr. Aanchal Malik, and NSS Advisor Dr. Renuka Mehra. On 1 November, an online quiz tested and enhanced participants’ understanding of vigilance-related issues.
Through these initiatives, GCCBA aims to nurture a culture of honesty, transparency and accountability, encouraging students to become responsible citizens who uphold ethical values in every sphere of life. The College’s activities align with the Central Vigilance Commission’s emphasis on public outreach and awareness for integrity in governance.
