Government College of Commerce and Business Administration, Sector 50, Chandigarh,
celebrated the 79th Independence Day of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour on
15th August 2025. The event aimed to honor the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and instil
the values of unity, responsibility, and nation-building among students.
The celebration began with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Vice-Principal Dr.
Amarpreet Singh Sijher, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. The Vice Principal
addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of independence, the progress achieved
over the years, and the role of youth in shaping the future of the nation.
All faculty members, including administrative staff, were present to grace the occasion and
motivate students. Their presence and active participation made the event more meaningful.
Various cultural items were performed including patriotic songs, speeches, dances, and a
short skit portraying the struggles of freedom fighters. Students participated with great zeal,
showcasing their talents and expressing their love for the country.
The event concluded with the entire gathering standing in unison to sing the National
Anthem, filling the air with a sense of pride, unity, and commitment towards the nation.
Sweets were distributed among students and staff, marking the end of the memorable
celebration.
