Government College of Commerce and Business Administration, Sector 50, Chandigarh celebrated its 14th Annual Athletic Meet with zeal and enthusiasm, which was declared OPEN by the Principal of
College, Dr. Sangam Kapoor. She, along with the staff and students of the college, welcomed the Chief Guest for the day, Shri Chander Bhushan Ojha, Chief Engineer, Engineering Department, Chandigarh
Administration. She exhorted the sportspersons to “compete with honour, cheer with enthusiasm, and above all, let us cherish the bonds of friendship and unity that unite us as one college community.” Dr. Amarpreet S. Sijher, Dean, and Convener (Sports) read the annual report of the Sports Department, highlighting the achievements during the current session. On this occasion, various track events, team events, field events, and fun games were organised. The special event of the day included the demonstration of Sikh Martial Art Gatka before the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest, in his address to the sportspersons, asked them to “showcase their skills, push their limits, and embrace the thrill of victory and the lessons of defeat.” He distributed certificates, medals, and trophies to the winners. He blessed all the participants and assured the students that he would make the best possible efforts to meet the infrastructural needs of the college.
Ms. Kanchan Kumari of BCA Second year (girls) and Mr. Aman Singh Rawat of BCA First year (boys) were declared the overall best athletes. At the end, Dr. V. Magesh, Vice Principal of the College,
presented the vote of thanks.
